Governors

Victoria Road Academy has 5 Local Academy Governors who meet once per term to address the delegated functions of the Trustee Board (Aspire Educational Trust). The governors meet regularly as a complete body to deal with a wide variety of school business. They are responsible for curriculum matters, building maintenance, staff appointments and monitoring how the school’s budget is to be spent.

The Local Academy Committee (LAC) includes a mix of Staff, Parents and Co-opted governors who are independent. The Head of School also sits on the LAC as ex-officio member. The Board are supported by a Governance Professional employed by the Trust and the Executive Head and Assistant CEO regularly attend meetings to provide information, support and assistance as required.
